May I extend to you my sincerest condolences for the loss of your loved one & I look forward to being of service to you & your family. I’d like to introduce myself, as a Chaplain, I've continued to officiate Military Memorial Services at Riverside National Cemetery, Miramar National Cemetery, Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery & many local Southern California Cemeteries for years. Plus, I worked for the VA at the local National Cemetery for many years after I retired from the Navy in 2010. And, on a side note, I have also been officiating weddings since 2006. I'm available to conduct Memorial Services for those who are in need of a Chaplain, providing a service that is personalized to reflect the personality & lifestyle of the deceased. I serve all military branches and all religious beliefs, plus civilians and their families. High profile services are also a specialty I am requested for. Officiating Memorial Services is my primary function, but the spiritual support of the bereaved is my utmost concern. I also offer house blessings & cleansings & Celebration of Life services. I can be your Emcee at your event or a Keynote Speaker. I’ve had the pleasure to work with many Southern California Mortuaries, and I would be honored to serve the families in your care. I am available to assist families in the preparation of Memorials and with the protocol of the Riverside National Cemetery and the Honor Guard Detail. When I worked for Riverside National, one of my jobs was in Public Affairs and the other was being the Volunteer Coordinator where I oversaw about 700 volunteers. My wife was heavily involved in the Cemetery when I worked their too, so both my wife & I know all of staff & the volunteers, you are in good hands. I turned over services at Riverside National Cemetery in 2021 to my wife. Know that RNC is the largest & busiest National Cemetery in the United States & services are on a strict timeline, for each Veteran or Spouse service, you get 30 minutes that need filling (honor teams take the first 5-7 minutes). We have structured our services to include the basic elements of a Memorial Service within the time allotted & we do our best to honor your loved one. I extend you my sincerest condolences and pray the lord comforts you with his peace.
As I mentioned above, my wife also is Clergy, in fact, she is the only female Minister who identifies as a Chaplain in Southern California serving Riverside National Cemetery & LA National Cemetery. She also covers Miramar National Cemetery & Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery when I am already booked there. Dear Families & Friends,
Let me introduce myself. First and foremost, I am a military child myself as my father was a proud WWII Veteran who served in the United States Coast Guard (RIP 1924-2014). I am also Chaplain Joe's wife since 1994. At most of my husband commands, I was also the Navy Ombudsman which is the liaison between the commands & the families. I also served at Activities Coordinator who planned events for the spouses & children at those commands. Having been a military spouse myself all these years, I thrive at being the best choice for your clergy needs.
Here's my religious back story, I grew up in small town Massachusetts, spent a lot of time participating in all things at our local Congregational church. My best friend's mother worked at the local Catholic Church & I got the opportunity to participate in their practices as well. Moved to Northern California in the 80's, got heavily involved at the local Methodist Church & participated in their practices, attended San Francisco State, graduated in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Communications Arts: Media/Radio/TV, with a minor in Religious Studies where I enjoyed learning about religious traditions especially spirituality.
In1994, I married my Navy Sailor, and then we started moving around a lot in his 20 years of honorable service to include having our one child in 1999. My other activities include filling in on-air at KATY FM (101.3/103.9) in Temecula/San Bernardino (been there since 2009) & substitute teaching within the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. My husband & I are also Museum Docents/Volunteers at the California State Citrus Park in Riverside, as Chaplain Joe grew up in Redlands working with his grandfather (ex-mounted Sheriff with Redlands Police Dept) on 80 acres of citrus groves. And we also have served many of the local Police Departments as Chaplains, serving our community & our Peace Officers. And I can't forget to mention that I'm a "Dog Mom" to my Lhasa Apso, Sir Benjamin Waffles & Havanese, Madame Presley Pancakes. So, I keep myself pretty busy with my "Pancakes & Waffles".
I am a Minister, but I prefer to identify as a Chaplain since I also have served law enforcement, previously RSO & Riverside Police Department as one of their Police Chaplains. I am here to serve your family at a Veteran or Spouse committal service at the local So Cal National Cemeteries such as: Riverside National Cemetery, Miramar National Cemetery, Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery & LA. I also know all the staff at both Riverside National Cemetery as my husband worked there for many years after retiring from the Navy in 2010 & at Miramar National/Fort Rosecrans as both my husband & I are there about 3 times a week.
